Up to 1500 water users in Castlerea face water restrictions from tonight

Up to 1500 people in the wider Castlerea area are facing nightly water restrictions from tonight.

Irish Water is implementing the restrictions due to low levels of water in the local source, the Longford Springs.

The restrictions come into force from 9pm at night and will continue until 8am in the morning.

Some areas may have no water during this time while other areas may have reduced supply.

Lead with Irish Water in Rosommon Ger Greally says it may have to continue for days or even weeks, depending on usage.
