Over 1,000 people sign petition to retain dental services in Elphin

The campaign to save the Elphin dental clinic is intensifying, with up to 1,000 people signing a petition against the closure.

From September, the weekly clinic that’s based in Elphin health centre is moving to Boyle primary care centre because the HSE says its equipment is of a high standard.

But the community of Elphin is strongly against the move and yet another public meeting has been organised for Tuesday, July 31st.

The signatures from the petition have been sent to Health Minister Simon Harris and Children’s Minister Katherine Zappone.

Local councillor Valerie Byrne says children from some of the seven schools who use the clinic, are also behind the campaign.
