Women experiencing domestic violence in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon are being re-assured that emergency accommodation is available.
The Times Ireland reports today that there is no dedicated emergency accommodation available in the three counties, however local services say women are supported.
While the only dedicated refuge is Edgar House in Athlone, women with crisis situations who present to local authorities in Leitrim, Longford and Roscommon are prioritised and provided with a place to stay.
Bethany House in Longford which is a Society of St Vincent De Paul service, is the only dedicated centre that can take in women and their children with full support.
