Two people plead guilty to violent robbery near Longford train station

Two people have appeared in court charged with a violent robbery at a well- known car park near Longford train station.

Frances O’Brien with an address in Portlaoise, and Tony Wilson, with an address in Dublin, pleaded guilty to the incident at Mollaghans car park on Earl Street in November 2018 at Longford Circuit Court this week.

The court heard that both admitted involvement in the robbery of a canvas bag, documents, a phone charger and a travel mug from a woman.

A number of reports were ordered to be prepared for Ms. O’Brien, and she is due back in court in January for sentencing.

Consent to bail was also granted to Mr Wilson if he is able to gain a place at a treatment centre, and he is also due back in court in January for sentencing.
