Two charged with attempted murder in Northern Ireland after Ballymahon stabbing

Two men have been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident in Longford on Tuesday morning

Two men, aged 30 and 37, have been charged in Newry with attempted murder while the 30-year-old has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Six men have arrested yesterday in county Tyrone in connection with the incident in Ballymahon’s Main street on Tuesday morning in which a 40-year-old man suffered serious stab wounds.


A number of other males also arrested as part of the same investigation have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
