Tributes have been paid to two north Longford councillors who are stepping down after decades of service.
Cathaoirleach Luie McEntire has been a local representative for 40 years, but isn’t contesting the local elections on May 24th.
Cllr Martin Mulleady, his Fianna Fáil colleague, is also quitting after 15 years on the local authority.
At the last meeting of the current council yesterday, councillors paid tribute to their service to the community.
Both councillors’ families were also present, and Cathaoirleach Luie McEntire, from Moyne, says it was an emotional occasion.
Cllr Mulleady, from Drumlish, also says he has mixed feelings.
