Train delayed following ‘tragic’ incident at level crossing outside Mullingar

Dozens of passengers remain on a Connolly-Dublin train tonight outside of Mullingar following what has been described as a ‘tragic incident.

The 17.10 service has been suspended after the incident at the level crossing between Mullingar and Edgeworthstown.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene and the train has now just resumed its journey with all passengers on board after receiving Garda clearance to allow it complete its journey.


Alternative transport has been organised for other train services due to travel on the line tonight.
