Three Longford centres will receive funding for mobility and cancer care transport under the Clár programme.
Rath Mhuire Resource Centre will receive €19,550 which will go towards a seven seater wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Longford Hospice Homecare will get €45,830 to fund a patient transport ambulance.
Meanwhile, the Irish Wheelchair Assoiciation in Longford will receive €47,191 to go towards a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Nationally nearly 900 thousand euro has been made available for rural transport for people in need of medical services.
The Clár programme provides funding for small scale projects in rural Ireland and the application for this patient transport funding came directly from the Department of Rural and Community Development.
