Thousands pay respects to late Eugene McGee at Longford removal

Thousands of people paid their respects to the former journalist and GAA manager Eugene McGee last night in Longford.

Figures from the world of sport, politics and journalism, including Kerry legend Mick O’Dwyer and Meath great Colm O ‘Rourke were among thousands who attended the removal of the 1982 All Ireland winning boss last night.

He passed away on Sunday. Gardai are warning of traffic restrictions and some disruption in the town this morning at St Mel’s Cathedral with the funeral mass scheduled for 11am.
