A 17-year-old youth is due to appear in Longford District Court today in relation to an alleged shooting incident in Athlone last November.
At a previous court sitting, the teenager faced three charges in connection with the shooting at Convent Grounds, Bower Hill, in which a man sustained leg injuries.
He has been charged with the unauthorised use of a Marlin pump action shotgun, reckless discharge of a firearm and handling stolen property.
The court heard the rifle and ammunition were in the boot of a car being used for shooting by a contractor working for the Department of Agriculture.
Judge Seamus Hughes remanded the teenager on bail to appear in court again today.
