Taoiseach denies government has neglected rural Ireland

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is denying that his party has failed people living in rural Ireland during the past four years.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning the Fine Gael leader said his government has allocated millions of euro to allow for regeneration plans in smaller towns all over the country and the progress on that is already clear to see in the improved streetscapes.

He also says the national broadband plan and spending on major roads programmes will bring major benefits for rural counties in terms of connectivity.
