Taoiseach claims N4 motorway progress stalled due to lack of design and planning

There’s still no news on any significant progress on the N4 Mullingar to Longford upgrade with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar saying the project still needs planning and design.

The Fine Gael leader was speaking today following a walkabout in Longford town where he met briefly with council officials to discuss regeneration plans for the town and visited some long-established companies.

The Taoiseach says it was evident from his tour of the town that while the economy is improving different part of the country are growing at different rates.


On the N4 issue, Leo Varadkar said the project is firmly on the national transport agenda under Ireland 2040 but it isn’t possible to do everything at once…
