Around 30 people took part in the annual Táin march through Longford town yesterday.
Many of those who participated dressed as members of Queen Maeve’s Iron Age Army and made themselves known with a noisy procession to the Temperance Hall.
The Táin March started in Rathcroghan, Co. Roscommon and will go all the way to Cooley in County Louth. It takes place over three weekends and will finish up on the June Bank Holiday weekend.
The march which follow’s Queen Maeve’s route in pursuit of the legendary brown bull celebrates the epic tale of the Cattle Raid of Cooley.
