Small farmers won’t be here in two years, says Cllr Brady

A Longford councillor named in a court injunction has said he and other small farmers won’t be here in two years time if things don’t change.

Councillor Paraic Brady told a Longford County Council meeting that he’s “sick to death” of Meat Industry Ireland pulling out of talks and that common sense has to prevail.

The Fine Gael councillor’s comments come in the wake of mass lay-offs from meat plants across the Shannonside area.
