Shannonside’s parent company purchases two more stations

The company which owns Shannonside/Northern Sound has agreed a deal to purchase Clare FM and take a controlling share in Tipp FM.

Radio Kerry Holdings has confirmed that it is proceeding with a deal for both stations subject to regulatory approval.

In a joint statement, the companies say this deal will facilitate the consolidation of resources to underpin the future of the stations, and says they will retain their individual integrity serving their respective counties.

Clare FM was established in 1989, while Tipp FM also began broadcasting that year before securing full county-wide licence in 2003.

Radio Kerry was established in 1990 and in 2005 purchased Shannonside/Northern Sound.
