Fianna fail’s Transport spokesperson says it’s totally unacceptable the Dail will not be sitting this week as thousands of commuters face travel chaos ahead of a planned rail strike.
Trains will stop tomorrow in a dispute over pay, with unions calling for a more than 11 per cent increase over the next three years.
Management says that would add 43 million euro to their wage bill and would lead the company to insolvency.
The Dail last week voted to accept a mid-term break, which means there will be no sittings of anything Oireachtas related this week.
Last week Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin appeal to the government to sit on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, which was rejected.
