Seven businesses in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon shortlisted for prestigious Irish food award

Seven Shannonside businesses have been shortlisted for the prestigious Irish food award Blas na hEireann.

Lena’s Tea Room in Carrick-on-Shannon and McNiffe’s boxty Bakery from Drumshanbo will be up against food producers from across the 32 counties when they travel to Dingle for the awards in October.

Roscommon are lucky enough to have four nominations: Castlemine Farm, Oliver Carty, VOA Foods and Waldron Meats.

St. Mel’s award winning brewery in Longford town have received two nominations for their springbok beer and brown ale.
