Search under way in Longford for missing peregrine falcon

A Longford man is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing peregrine falcon bird.

It has been missing now since last Thursday  and her owner is worried about its safety.

Ronan Gibney flies falcons as a hobby and says this bird is a pet and is comfortable around people.

He says the falcon is a bit bigger than a grey crow, but the main reason that people might recognise her is that she has a bell on her leg which can be heard when she’s flying.

Ronan says he hopes the falcon might still be in the county and he’s asking people to keep an eye out and contact him if they spot the bird.

Anyone who wants to contact Ronan can phone him on 087-2976123, or email [email protected]
