It’s being reported that a motion is to come before Longford County Council to support Sean Gallagher as a presidential candidate.
The Cavan man announced yesterday that he was seeking the support of ten local authorities in his bid for the Aras, including Roscommon and Leitrim.
It’s understood that a proposal to support the businessman has been lodged with Longford and Cavan County Councils this afternoon.
Longford County Council is not scheduled to have a monthly meeting until the 12th of next month with the closing date for getting the required national support by the end of September.
However, the local authority may facilitate a special meeting in order to hear from other Aras hopefuls.
Two more councils (Longford and Cavan) have submitted motions to nominate Seán Gallagher for #Aras18. His name is now slated for 12 councils to consider.
