A new report published by Ifac has revealed that many small business have concerns about Brexit, but a significant number are still not planning for their future, with less than 1 in 5 businesses having a succession plan.
However, one in four plan to recruit in the next year and three out of four are planning to reduce environmental impact, with sustainable packaging and veganism influencing the food businesses.
Margins have remained static or fallen for 81% of business compared to 2018, however, 48% of business have seen a turnover.
Head of Food and AgriBusiness, David Leydon, believes while things are good in most of the Shannonside region – there is still room for improvement.
