Significant street and road works in Ballymahon town are expected to get underway in early 2019 as the south -Longford area gets ready for the opening of Center Parcs.
Part 8 planning for two projects in the town was approved by Councillors in December, with major traffic and street enhancement developments planned for the centre of the town.
The plans come just 12 months after the town’s aging water mains systems were replaced by Irish water.
Traffic volumes are likely to increase significantly on the N55 and R392 routes and the Council is looking to develop new traffic management systems in the town.
