The Shannonside region’s unemployment figures have dropped by a total of just over four-hundred-and-fifty people in the last twelve months according to figures from the CSO.
An analysis of the live register figures for February reveals that Longford showed the biggest drop year on year of people unemployed in the region
The CSO live register figures have showed a minimal difference overall between January unemployment stats and February of this year.
In Leitrim, a total of six fewer people were on the live register month-on-month, in Longford the dole queues increased by one and in Roscommon the list of people unemployed dropped by two in the opening months of 2020.
Comparing February to the same month last year – one-hundred-and-thirty-eight fewer people were signing on in February of this year compared to twelve months ago in Leitrim.
In Longford the live register dropped by a total of one-hundred- and–sixty-six people in the last twelve months and in Roscommon one-hundred and-fifty-four fewer people were unemployed between February of 2019 and this year.
Athlone’s figures dropped by a total of one-hundred-and-ninety-nine and in Mullingar the live register dropped year-on-year by one-hundred-and-seventy-five.
