People living in and around Edgeworthstown are being invited to attend a special consultation event today to give their views on plans to enhance the main street of the town.
The consultation is in relation to the €1.3 million euro plans to improve footpaths, lighting and parking spaces on the street, and it’s hoped work can begin this summer on the project.
Work has already begun to underground cables along the street, and the renovation of the former Ulster Bank into an enterprise hub is also ongoing.
Local councillor Paul Ross says meetings have already taken place with traders and other groups in relation to the main street plans, but today is the chance for members of the public to give their views.
He says the consultation day is being held at the Village Green centre from half past one today until seven this evening, and staff from Longford council will be there to explain the plans, as well s staff from the architects who’ve made the designs.
