Protesters are maintaining a blockade at the gates of the C&D Foods premises in Edgeworthstown this morning despite a High Court injunction granted yesterday.
Copies of the injunction were handed out this morning to the beef protesters, but there’s no sign as yet of the blockade being lifted.
It’s understood that three lorries have tried unsuccessfully to leave the premises this morning so far.
The High Court was told yesterday that the company has lost around €400,000 since the protest began last Saturday and that more than 500 workers will be laid off if the situation remains the same.
There is no activity reported at the Epicom premises across the road from C&D this morning where over 150 people are employed in packaging.
