Polish man charged in connection with alleged Granard meth lab faces further charges

nn Polish man has appeared in court in connection with the alleged manufacture of drugs in the Granard area.

Tomasz Toczek with an address at Carrickduff, Granard had previously been charged with the unlawful possession of the controlled drug Methamphetamine.

The 34 year-old appeared last Friday before Longford District Court further charged in relation to the alleged manufacture, production or preparation of a controlled drug on the 25th May this year.

He also faces a charge of possessing articles where it could be reasonably inferred such articles were for a purpose connected with the facilitation of a drug trafficking offence.

Inspector Michelle Baker told the court the amount of drugs recovered was small with a street value of around €60.

A previous court sitting heard that in addition to drugs gardai allegedly found money totalling €3,500 in cash.

The defendant was remanded on continuing bail to appear again in court on 20th October.
