PODCAST: ”Shortage of home help hours resulted in my mother being put into care”

Dozens of families are struggling as a result of the lack of home care hours in the country. Figures revealed this week in The Times Ireland show the average hours allocated to a person in Longford-Westmeath last year was the lowest in the country, at just 249 hours per annum. Des Skelly is Chairperson of the Longford Older Persons Network, he spoke to MaryClaire on Lets Talk this week about the situation he and his brother faced when they were caring for their mother.
