None of the 200 newly qualified Gardai are to be stationed in Shannonside region

None of the 200 gardai who passed out at Templemore College in recent days are being appointed to any garda station in the Shannonside region.

A total of 201 new gardai graduated on last Friday but the majority are going to stations in Dublin and the border region.



Just 14 of the new members of the force are from the Shannonside region.

There are five from Co Roscommon including Sheila Brady and Andrew Judge from Ballinlough who will both be stationed in Co Cavan.

Darren Cruise and James Keenan who are both from Castlerea are being stationed in Dublin and Monaghan respectively.

Aine Ryan from Ballinasloe, Roscommon is to be stationed in Dublin.

The three new gardai from Longford who passed out on Friday are Paul Cassidy from Ballinamuck, Michael Reynolds form Ballinalee, and Shane McGivney from Mullinalaghta, and they will be stationed in Louth and Meath.

Gary Slevin from Glenfarne, and Amanda Gilmartin from Carrick-on-Shannon in Leitrim have been assigned to stations in Louth and Cavan.

New gardai David Fagan, Conan Molloy, Niall Shine and Dermot Bannon are all from Athlone, and they’re going to serve in stations in Meath, Louth and Galway.
