Man remains in serious condition at Dublin hospital following Longford incident

A man in his forties is in a serious condition at St James hospital in Dublin following an incident at Main Street in Ballymahon around 7 0′ clock yesterday morning.

The man received what gardai say appear to be stab wounds during the course of the incident which they say involved a large number of men.

The man was brought initially to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar and has since been transferred to St James Hospital in Dublin.


Gardaí are asking anyone with information or anyone who travelled through Ballymahon yesterday morning between half past six and eight o’ clock to contact them at Longford garda station where an incident room has been set up.
