Valentines across the Shannonside region are being invited to raise awareness and support those with cystic fibrosis this year.
This is the third year that Longford cystic fibrosis campaigner Jillian McNulty has organised a Valentine’s ball, which takes place on February 15th.
Jillian is recovering after being seriously ill in hospital in December, having spent days in a coma.
Jillian McNulty from Glack is living with cystic fibrosis, but is also in kidney failure and needs a transplant.
Just before Christmas, she was admitted to St Vincent’s Hospital with an infection and her condition deteriorated leading her into a coma for ten days.
She is now home and feels lucky to be alive.
Jillian says despite her recent illness, the Valentine’s Ball for Cystic Fibrosis is still going ahead.
She says her family and friends are helping out and is hoping people will support it.
Valentine’s ball for CF takes place in Lough Rynn Castle on Saturday February 15th.
