A Longford woman is flying the flag in Brussels this week for adult education in the county.
Kathleen Dowd is representing Longford Women’s Link at a prestigious policy-making event in the Belgium capital.
The Newtownforbes woman is passionate about the role education can play in changing people’s lives having returned to learning after losing her job when Glanbia closed down in Rooskey.
Since then she has taken a leading role in helping others return to education and retrained to become a Community Employment Supervisor with Longford’s Women Link where she mentors other women.
This week she is taking part in the Erasmus Adult Education Leaders Learning in Europe Project, a huge opportunity she’s hoping to make the most of.
