A Longford woman has been jailed for seven months after admitting a series of thefts in the town - including for offences involving the tapping of a stolen credit and debit card.
The woman told Judge Seamus Hughes that she had stolen a purse which contained three different bank cards and these were used in multiple incidents.
She also admitted stealing a Vacuum cleaner worthy €300 from a local hardware store as well as a theft from a Longford town pharmacy.
The court heard the woman was stealing to feed her drug habit and she was also accused of taking up to 300 euro in an ATM withdrawal.
Longford District Court hard the woman had 95 previous convictions, including 62 for theft, as her solicitor explained that the woman had been in a bad place with a drink and drug alcohol issue.
Judge Hughes imposed a seven month jail term with a number of other charges struck out.
