Longford woman admits online abuse over Traveller heritage hard to cope with

A Longford woman, who is just hours away from taking her place in the Grand Final of Ireland’s Got Talent this weekend, says online criticism she received did upset her.

Sharyn Ward is one of a number of hopefuls who will be looking to impress the public and the judges on this Sunday’s final where the top prize is €50,000.

The singer, who has wowed the Irish public with songs such as ‘Black is the Colour’, revealed last week that she has been the subject of serious online abuse about her heritage as a Traveller.
