Longford town motorists warned of road resurfacing on busy route

Roadworks are underway at Annaly Park in Longford town today to resurface the busy route.

The road through the park connects the N5 and N63 national routes and takes a high volume of traffic on a daily basis.

The road is closed today until six o’ clock this evening to allow the works to be carried out, and signed local diversions are in place.

Access to the Annaly Carpark will be possible via the Richmond Street junction.

Road resurfacing works are also planned for the junction of Little Water Street and Main Street on next Wednesday, as well as at Fee Court near Church St.

The local road at Fee Court will be closed from 7am until 1pm on next Wednesday to allow resurfacing works to take place.

Parking will be provided in the Longford council car park at the County Buildings on the day and on Church Street free of charge.

Resurfacing will also take place at the junction between litter Water Street and Main Street from 7am to 5 o’ clock in the evening on Wednesday.

The road there will remain open though with traffic management in place.]
