Longford principal says schools are preparing for coronavirus

The principal of St Mel’s college in Longford says schools are quietly preparing for any eventuality as a result of the coronavirus.

Declan Rowley says the school has been reviewing its hand sanitising policies and facilities, and students have been shown videos on the importance of handwashing in keeping the virus at bay.

The Longford principal says they like others have heard rumours of possible school closures down the line, but there has been no official communication on that so far.
