Longford postmaster wants post office sustainability prioritised

A Longford postmaster is calling on any new programme for government to prioritise the future sustainability of the post office network.

The Postmasters union is today warning that between 300 and 400 offices could close within 18 months if current revenue decreases continue.

Padraig McNamara also says the increase in the price of the stamp in March by 10 cent will not help the postal businesses but it is necessary to ensure the postal service.
