Longford Gardai urging drivers not to park in wheelchair spaces ahead of Christmas rush

Gardai in Longford town are urging motorists not to park in wheelchair accessible parking spaces as the town gets busier ahead of Christmas.

Officers in the town are keeping a particular eye out for people who may be doubled parked, or who are inappropriately using age-friendly, or child accessible spaces. Gardai are asking all motorists to be mindful of car parking spaces and other road users, especially the elderly, or people with mobility issues.

Mountain bike as well as garda foot patrols around the town will be monitoring the usage of parking spaces with motorists advised to heed all traffic and parking signs so as not to cause a disturbance to the flow of traffic or enforcement issues within car parks.
