Longford County Council spent over three-million euro on goods and services between January and March this year.
Over half of the three million euro spent by Longford County Council in the first three months of 2019 was on insurance payments to Irish Public Bodies.
The total amount of money handed over was 1.556 million euro – with eight payments made in February -including one for 1.1 million euro.
January’s spending came to a total of just over €300,000 – including €33,000 in legal fees to E C Geraty and over €21,000 to All Vision Limited for ‘Library services’.
February’s payments consisted of construction invoices and insurance expenditure while in March over €250,000 was invoiced by Lagan Asphalt Limited for roadworks with over half-a-million also claimed by Frank McKenna bringing the monthly total to €936,556.
Overall, for March 3.098 million euro was spent by the council in purchase orders worth over €20,000 as revealed by the Council’s financial department.
