Longford county council has received a boost in funding to improve the energy efficiency of homes in the county.
€265,000 has been allocated to complete retro-fitting works on social housing in the area.
Longford Cathaoirleach Micheal Carrigy says upgrading houses will be of “top priority” to the council, with a particular focus on buildings with solid walls and wooden doors and windows.
