Longford Councillor and JPC Chairman says today’s Lunney search sends “strong message”

Longford Councillor and Chairman of the Joint Policing Committee, Séamus Butler, has praised today’s Lunney searches as “sending a strong message”.

Gardaí, the PSNI and Police in England carried out a number of raids across Longford, Cavan, Dublin and the UK.

A man suspected of being involved in Kevin Lunney’s abduction and assault in September died earlier today after a search in Derbyshire.

Local police say the man in his 50s took ill while the search was being carried out.
