Longford Council confirms all roads in county now passable

Longford County Council has confirmed that all roads in the county are now passable once again.

The local authority has finally managed to clear all the snow from local and regional roads across the county since Storm Emma hit last Thursday night.

Snowploughs had been in operation since Friday afternoon clearing snow from communities across the county, with a number of areas in the south of the county worst affected.

The Council has confirmed that it responded to almost 100 incidents across the county as a result of the icy snap between 6pm on Wednesday evening and 6pm on Monday.
