The latest GeoView Property Report for the last quarter of last year shows that Co Longford is one of just six counties nationwide recording a decrease in commercial property vacancies.
The Longford decrease is slight at 0.1%, while the rates for Roscommon and Leitrim rose slightly, but only by less than a percentage point each.
Longford’s rate now stands at 14.9% , while Roscommon’s stands at 16.3% and Leitrim stands at 16.6%.
Longford town has the lowest commercial property vacancy rate in the county at just over 22% while Edgeworthstown has the highest rate at 25%.
Boyle has the highest vacancy rate in Co Roscommon when it comes to commercial properties at 21.6%, and Roscommon town at 21% has the lowest.
Carrick on Shannon in Leitrim has a commercial vacancy rate of 17.6%.
Co Roscommon accounts for 1.6% of commercial vacancies nationally, while Longford accounts for 1% and Leitrim accounts for 0.9%.
Edenderry in Offaly has the highest vacant commercial property rate of 29% while Co Westmeath is among the counties with the lowest rates at 11.7%.
