A Shannonside TD and member of the Oireachtas Sport Committee says he believes the entire board of the FAI should resign.
Robert Troy, who is Fianna Fail’s spokesman on sport, has also called for former CEO John Delaney to go.
The Longford-Westmeath deputy said he believes a new board is needed to restore confidence in the organisation.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show he said he formed his opinion after the FAI board appeared before the committee last week.
He claimed at that meeting the board displayed both contempt and arrogance and were extremely evasive in the answers they provided.
He believes former CEO John Delaney, who has stepped aside from his new role as Executive Vice President pending an independent review, should also resign.
He made his comments ahead of the committee meeting again this afternoon to hear about the ongoing financial and governance issues at the association.
