LISTEN: Local students celebrate Leaving Cert success

Leaving Cert Students are being urged to celebrate sensibly at various events in the Shannonside region tonight.

Over 1,500 students from across Longford Leitrim and Roscommon are picking up their results online and at their respective secondary schools today

She was one of a number of pupils who decided to pick up their envelope of results at the school just after 9am this morning.

The 2019 results are out slightly earlier than previous years and students also had the option to log on for their exam results from 10am.

Scoil Mhuire principal Aoife Mulrennan told Shannonside FM that they noticed much fewer pupils in the school today than would be expected traditionally :

Dozens of young men also collected their results in St Mel’s College in Longford this morning.

First-round college offers will be made on Thursday and principal Declan Rowley said, overall students were happy with how their exams went
