ISPCA hopeful of full recovery for two puppies dumped among rubbish in Ballymahon

The ISPCA is hopeful that two young puppies found dumped in Ballymahon earlier this week will be fully healthy in a few weeks.

Three dogs were found near the Red Bridge in Ballymahon on Monday morning among rubbish illegal dumped at the popular walking route in south Longford.

One of the dogs, believed to be terrier collie cross, died from drowning, while the other two, called Saoirse and Shannon, are now being cared for at the ISPCA centre in Kenagh.


Centre manager Hugh O’Toole believes the dogs may have been the result of an unexpected or unwanted pregnancy as the centre normally sees more dogs dumped in January rather than December.
