A Longford service for people with disabilities has been highlighted for issues of non-compliance.
A recent report by Hiqa has revealed two areas of non-compliance at the Oaklands Supported Accommodation service.
Three residents were present at the time of the unannounced inspection which took place on the 25th of September in 2019.
Run by RehabCare Limited, the issues identified involved residents’ rights as well as governance and management problems.
Although residents were observed to be happy and comfortable, however it was noted there was inequity in transport costs for residents, and residents hadn’t been supported adequately in relation to a rent increase.
There was a clear management structure in place, but Oaklands had not prepared an annual review of the quality and safety of care and support.
A subsequent review was undertaken after inspection.
