Granard cultural park gets planning permission

Planning permission has been granted for a heritage and cultural park in Granard.

The 16-acre site is beside the newly opened Knights of Conquests Interpretative Centre, surrounding Granard Motte.

The park will include a Norman village, with 19 traditional buildings and numerous features, such as defensive structures, a treasure trove, pond and footpath trails.

Longford County Council has given Granard Motte Community Enterprise’s plans the go-ahead, subject to 12 conditions.
