The Granard electoral area has the second highest 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 people in the country. That’s according to the latest

The Granard electoral area has the second highest 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 people in the country.

That’s according to the latest information from the HSE which covers the period from the 22nd of September to the 5th of October.

The information relates to the amount of cases of Covid-19 confirmed in each local electoral area across the country and is the most detailed data available regarding where Covid cases have been diagnosed inside county boundaries.

The latest information shows the rate in the Granard electoral area is 384.1 per 100,000, more than three times higher than the national average of 116.4 per 100,000.

It had been just 112.4 in the previous two weeks data collected for the last two weeks in September.

The information also shows that from September 22 to October 5, forty-one new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were diagnosed in the Granard electoral area.

The latest information is also showing a substantial increase in the Longford electoral area.

While it’s 14 day incidence rate this week is 112.2, this is still more than a 100% increase on it’s previous rate of 56.1 from the middle to the end of September.

18 cases of Covid-19 were diagnosed in the Longford electoral area between September the 22nd and the 5th of this month.

The Ballymahon area has the least amount of Covid cases confirmed in the county in recent times, with just five diagnosed, and an incidence rate of 35.3 per 100,000 people.

In Roscommon , the incidence rate in the Boyle electoral area has risen considerably from 197 previously, to 242, making it the ninth highest in the country.

There were 53 cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the area between September 22nd and Monday of this week.

There are considerably lower numbers for the rest of the county with the Roscommon area showing an incidence rate of 79.2 and 18 cases from Sept 22nd until October 5th.

The Athlone electoral area in south Roscommon has an incidence rate of 170.2 and 34 cases confirmed in recent weeks.

In Leitrim the Ballinamore area isn’t on the list because it has less than 5 cases reported in recent times, and the Carrick-on-Shannon area has just six cases reported with an incidence rate of 52.8.
