Gardai and domestic violence agencies urged to bring more coercive control cases before courts

There’s an onus now on gardai and other agencies dealing with cases of domestic abuse to investigate further cases of coercive control.

That’s according to Mo Reynolds, domestic violence support worker with Longford Women’s Link.

Her comments come as a man was jailed in Donegal yesterday after he pleaded guilty to a number of charges, including making nearly six-thousand phone calls to his partner in a three month period.

Mo Reynolds says there is a responsibility now on everyone involved to use the legislation to bring forward more cases.
