Flowers and greenery on roundabouts in south Longford could soon be a thing of the past

Flowers and greenery on roundabouts in south Longford could soon be a thing of the past following a motion at this month’s meeting of Ballymahon’s Municipal District.

Fianna Fail Councillor Mick Cahill received support for a motion to remove grass and hedges on the roundabouts in Edgeworthstown – inspired by works carried out on a roundabout on the n4 at Dromod.

The councillor claimed that due to the safety measures that needed to be put in place in order for employees to access roundabouts to cut grass, it would be more practical if all decoration on them would be non-organic.
