Talks aimed at resolving the ongoing beef price dispute are expected to resume at the weekend or early next week.
Meat processors and farming groups met separately with the Agriculture Minister yesterday evening in an effort to resolve the row.
The Beef Plan Movement has repeated its request that retailers must attend the next set of talks, whenever they may be.
Longford Westmeath Fianna Fail Deputy Robert Troy says the mood at the protests which are continuing is getting angrier as time goes on with no progress.
He says he hopes that last night’s talks will result in more discussions taking place over the next few days and that farmers can go back to farm, and workers jobs at the plants would be secured.
